We adopt several administrative, technical and physical measures to ensure the security of your data.
Working with our Storage provider (Google Cloud Storage) we are extremely confident that customer data is safe & secure. Google servers are physically some of the most secure in the world today:
Aside from physical security all data is stored in multiple locations to ensure reliability and eradicate the chance of data loss.
Data is of course encrypted by us during upload and stored encrypted on our servers.
No one but you can access your Backup-Hub files unless you purposely share files or folders. Sharing can be actioned privately or via public links, the share can be disabled at any time at the account holder’s discretion.
If you wish to encrypt data prior to upload there are plenty of free applications available to do so, however it isn’t a necessity.
There are some major disadvantages in using an external hard drive for backup which do not exist when using Backup-Hub:
Once you have backed up files technically they will remain backed up forever. We do not delete files after a certain time or have any input on the up-keep of your account, the only way files can be deleted is by yourself through the control panel.
Assuming your computer is turned on and the Mypcbackup app is running in the background you can start a backup remotely. Crystal Backup-Hub works on the following operating systems:
If your cell phone isn’t yet supported you can access backed up files through our mobile site http://mobilemy.Mypcbackup.com
In addition to the cloud backup service Crystal Backup-Hub also offers a basic file syncing service. If you have several devices on your Crystal Backup-Hub account, the sync folder is an easy place to put files which you use and edit on more than one of these devices.
Any file you put in the Sync Folder on one computer, appears in the Sync Folder on all your other devices linked to your account.
The Sync Folder icon on the Crystal Backup-Hub application launches the Sync Folder in its own window. This window acts very much like a regular folder, you can drag and drop files or folders onto it and they become synced with all your other devices.
When you open a file that is present in the Sync Folder it is downloaded to your Downloads folder (C:UsersusernameDownloads) and therefore actually opened from this location, therefore if you makes any changes to it, and save it, the save applies to the copy in the Downloads folder. To now re-sync this file, simply drag it back onto the Sync Folder and it will overwrite the copy in there.
Right-clicking on a synced file enables saving it somewhere locally on your computer of your choice, the option to rename the file, delete it completely, or by clicking share you are taken to your Crystal Backup-Hub account online to the sharing panel.
The Sync Folder saves carrying around flash drives from computer to computer and therefore makes working on your files easy on whatever device you are using.
